Dr. Konstantinos Athanasiadis was born in Central Macedonia, Greece in 1964. He received the M.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics and the Ph.D. in Technical Sciences from the Belarusian State University of Minsk, Belarus, in 1990 and 1994, respectively.
Dr. Konstantinos Athanasiadis has a very good and deep understanding in the field of ‘Free Movement of Goods’, and solid knowledge of the roles and the functions of quality infrastructures (metrology, accreditation, testing laboratories, standardization) within a national quality infrastructure system. As former President and General Director of the Hellenic Institute of Metrology-EIM, he has collaborated with colleagues from many countries, including countries from Africa, in the field of Metrology, Standardization and Accreditation, and has had the opportunity to participate in many conferences and meetings in this field.
As LT Expert on Quality he would take care of Ghana quality assessment, launch the corresponding tenders, award and contract on a needs-basis. He will also ensure the availability of qualified specialists for short-term consultancy on a needs basis in quality areas. The LT Expert on Quality will: a) Assess a regulatory framework currently in place for NQI, b) Assist the Government and MoTI in reviewing the current practices and legislation including, if needed, developing primary & secondary legislation for NQI, c) Assist the Government and MoTI in reviewing the institutional capacity and assessment of related needs for NQI institutions (NQI Needs Assessment) and prepare a detailed Implementation Plan.
